On October 14, 2016, the New China-Japan Trade Corridor - Ishima to Tokyo cargo roll-on/roll-off shipping route was launched

On October 14th, the maiden voyage ceremony of the "Star Link 1" from Shidao New Port to Tokyo was held, marking the official opening of the cargo roll-on/roll-off shipping route from Shidao to Tokyo, Japan, and becoming another important maritime channel for our city's trade with Japan. The shipping route is jointly operated by the Ishijima Group and Japan's Xiangsida Shipping Co., LTD., with one departure per week, connecting Ishijima with important international ports such as Tokyo and Yokohama in Japan and Busan in South Korea. The opening of the shipping route can greatly shorten the transportation time, improve operational efficiency, provide more convenient services for the majority of customers, and play a positive role in promoting the expansion of the influence of Shidao New Port in Northeast Asia and the creation of an international port of Shidao New Port. In recent years, the overall situation of the maritime shipping industry has been relatively severe. Shidao Group has continuously innovated its service model, expanded its service areas, vigorously carried out transshipment container business, created a characteristic operation brand, enhanced its competitive edge, and thus occupied a place in the fierce market competition. At present, passenger and cargo roll-on/roll-off liner routes to Incheon and Gunsan in South Korea, all-container liner routes to Busan, Gwangyang, Pyeongtaek in South Korea and Kanto, Kansai, Kyushu in Japan, domestic container routes to Guangzhou and Quanzhou, and domestic feeder routes to Qingdao for foreign trade have been successively opened. The total cargo throughput of the port has always remained at a high level of 10 million tons.
