The newly-built berths of Shidao New Port have been approved for opening to the public

Since 2010, Shidao New Port has invested 1.8 billion yuan to build seven berths with a capacity of over 10,000 tons, along with supporting breakwaters and a 50,000-ton waterway project. In August 2016, the construction of two 20,000-ton and one 50,000-ton berths, numbered 16 to 18, was completed ahead of schedule. The berths are 661.5 meters long and have a designed annual handling capacity of 3.13 million tons.

On July 21st, three newly-built 10,000-ton berths at Shidao New Port were officially opened and passed the inspection and acceptance of relevant departments in Shandong Province.

The acceptance team composed of the provincial port Office, Qingdao Customs, the Provincial Public Security Border Defense Corps, Shandong Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Shandong Maritime Safety Administration and the Provincial Port and Shipping Bureau, which participated in the acceptance, inspected the proposed berths to be put into use at Shidao New Port on the spot and listened to the reports on the relevant work situation. The preparatory work for the external opening of the three newly-built 10,000-ton berths at Shidao New Port was fully affirmed, and the acceptance was signed and approved.
